New products - Cotton braided cable

Exciting news!! I took some cotton braided wire to the Kickback motorcycle show in April, and it went down well. So here you are; 16 gauge and 12 gauge cotton braided copper wire, for all your shed built motorcycles..!!

They have a copper conductor with PVC insulation. This is covered with one layer of cotton braid, so you get all the benefits of a modern wire, with the cool and sophistication of the classic.

16ga is ideal for most wiring applications, such as lighting, brake switches, horn, etc, and is available in 4 colours;

Brown with red/black fleck;

Black with white fleck;

Red with white fleck;

White with green fleck;

The meatier 12 ga wire is suitable for more hard-core applications, such as the ignition circuit, and wiring to the battery;

Available in red and black;

Any questions please dont hesitate to contact me, otherwise get your wallet out and head to the shop!

Walking backwards

One step forward, twelve back...!! So I need to find the advance timing position to set the magneto up, so first I need to find TDC, no problem, couldnt find my last piston stop so I knocked up another one quick sticks and put it in the engine. Then instead of tunrning the engine nice and slowly I used the kick lever and bang! The bloody bit of metal I welded on the end of th spark plug falls off into the cylinder.

Tried for AAAAAges to get it out to no avail, so it was a case of totally stripping the bike to take the top off the engine....

So now the bike looks like this;

Waiting for a new gasket set to arrive to I can put it all back together... fml.

Electrics suck balls

Finally got over my annoyance at the bike and went in the shed last night. Swapped the coil and the I got sparks, so the coil was fucked.

But it does still worry me that the battery was clearly not getting charged back up on the ride down. So either the charging system is fucked (I'm thinking the reg/rec), or the battery is fucked, or both.

ANYWAYS... I'm not too concerned as I took delivery of a shiny new Morris Magneto....!!!

So I started stripping all the ignition circuit out. Also removed the starter circuit as it hasn't worked in ages. I'm going to go lean and clean with the electrics from now on.

I needed a piston stop last night to find TDC etc and I cant find the one I made from a spark plug.... I know I put it somewhere safe..... GGRRRRR!!!

Update...

Update on what I have been upto, not a great deal to be honest. Took the bike to a show in Barnsley at a Go-Kart track where you can have a ride round (its just a PARADE not a RACE OK?!). Great fun!

The bike has a lot of ground clearance, but slightly less on the left side where I kept catching the kick stand...

Also I have had a fuel leak from the fuel tap. Not a big deal, although as the bike has been sat in the shed so much, it has got under the paint and basically fucked it.

very annoyed as this is the second time I have painted the bloody thing... anyways a quick fix for now was some sticker-bombing! (also I fixed the leak - PTFE tape!)

Im off to the Hotrod Hayride this weekend, so needed luggage space. Didnt have much time, so I quickly knocked up a rack to carry all my make-up and shoes.

It could do with properly cleaning up and finishing, but for now I just gave it a quick spray of black, though I was annoyed because it came out matt instead of gloss!  >:(

Im riding about 500 miles this weekend, so what you see on the seat is a jell pad for a horse saddle that I nicked off my mum!

Anyways I took the bike out for a quick spin last night, it never fails to put a smile on my face. I took it straight out of the shed, in my overalls and safety boots, no gloves, no specs, just a helmet. It felt great!

Kickback Bike Show 2015

Had a fantastic weekend at the Kickback Custom bike show in Stoneleigh. I had a HVC stall there all weekend (a lot better than being outside!) and so I spent the weekend making lots of new friends and selling a few bits. I also had my XS in the bike show, in the under 30's "up and coming" class. I managed third place! So a doubly good weekend all round.

Here is my cheesy mug;

1st place:

2nd:

There were lots of good stalls and great bikes to look at, here is a selection of them;

Probably my favorite:

My bike snuck in among the others:

I thought the pallets were a nice touch. Lifted the bikes off the floor and gave a more professional feel to it (even though they were just pallets!)
